Any goods, soon or later, will become waste. All waste, will (and must) return to be raw materials.
Circular Economy is not an option, it is the way that Nature uses to regenerate life on the Planet.
If we target a zero landfill strategy, then we have to carefully disassemble what was produced, used and discharged, and recover both the energy and the raw materials contained in the single goods, to make them available for a new loop.
The Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) can be managed trough different valorisation strategies to best meet the local needs, nevertheless being the MSW:
infected (people become sick at home, and before they are transferred to hospitals, they have produced infected waste);
made of heterogeneous materials (MSW contains any goods acquired by householders);
very wet (MSW contains up to 35% of water);
and very low in density (usually less than 160 kg / cubic meter).
to be properly handled, has to be transformed in a more manageable material.
The solution is to transform the MSW into a homogeneous, sterilised, dry, and easy to handle material, the SRF.
The SRF is the Solid Recovered Fuel produced by a process using different technologies, among them the CONVERTER technology.
The α CONVERTER, performs a mechanical treatment that, through a fast-rotating blade, operates the sterilisation and the normalisation of the waste, generating a material with constant energy, granulometry, density, and humidity.
This technology represents an excellent solution for the immediate treatment of waste in the places where it is produced (villages, hospitals, ports, airports, shopping mall, resorts, large buildings, ships ...), neutralising its impact on human health and reducing its size to facilitate its transportation to the treatment plants.
As soon as the SRF reach the π Plant location, it is manage according to the local energy requirements.
Among the available technologies:
σ SMOLDERING to recycle metals and to recover thermal and electric energy
λ LIQUID FUEL to recycle metals and to recover liquid hydrocarbons for transportation and chemicals purposes
γ GAS FUEL to recycle metals and to recover hydrogen and oxygen
